Summer is one of the times of the year where vacation days, going to the beach/pool, and even an increase in the consumption of high-calorie foods and alcoholic beverages predominate, due to the greater socialization and "relaxation" characteristic of this time...

It’s also in the summer that the hottest days are felt, so we must take extra care with hydration and nutrition. In addition, our metabolism is “slower” since it’s not necessary so much effort to maintain the body temperature and, thus, if there is no dietary care, weight can increase more easily.

To help you eat healthy in this summer, here are some tips that you can include in your daily life:

- Make light and slightly spicy meals;
- Keep hydrated, drinking water throughout the day;
- Bet on cold salads and soups for the main course;
- Consume ice creams and other typical sweets of this season in moderation;
- Choose to include fruits rich in water and in season for snacks throughout the day;
- Avoid alcoholic and soft drinks;
- Packs the most perishable foods in thermal bags/suitcases;
- Keep a regular schedule between meals;
- Maintain good physical exercise habits, preferring times of less heat exposure;
- Eat slowly and chew your food well;
- Gives preference to natural and little processed foods.

These are just a few tips that can help you effectively control your diet in the summer, not only in terms of weight control, but also for your health, preventing food-borne illnesses at this time, such as food intoxication for ex.
